For over 10 years, Blue Island Seafood has been supplying New York City with top-quality seafood at affordable prices. Their flagship store in Astoria, Queens supplies hundreds of customers daily and has become a staple in the community.

About The Work - Branding / Web

In 2021, Blue Island Seafood went under new management and was seeking to reinvent themselves from an identity standpoint. As a result, I was commissioned with revamping their brand identity in a way that would reflect a quality-driven modern business with traditional roots.

Logos

Blue Island Seafood wanted to continue conveying tradition and tenure with their logos—this is why we opted for a serif typeface paired with rustic illustrations. The fish illustration radiates a hand-drawn feel while the anchor serves multiple purposes. Not only is it a relevant design element, it’s also a representation of Blue Island Seafood as an anchored business in the industry.

Color Palette

Drawing inspiration from a harmonious palette of aquatic blues, earthy tones, and neutral hues—Blue Island Seafood's brand colors were carefully selected and strategically curated to encapsulate the essence of the sea.

Typography

Droid Serif brings a sense of tradition and reliability, reflecting the company’s established experience and commitment to quality. In contrast, Arial offers a clean, modern look that keeps the brand current and approachable. Together, these typefaces create a balanced visual identity that honors the company’s heritage while embracing the future.

Website

Leveraging established brand guidelines, we aimed to create a beautiful and functional responsive website that distinctly stands out from the competition. Ultimately, the primary goal was to significantly increase both traffic and revenue for Blue Island Seafood by effectively showcasing its diverse services and products in a professional and aesthetically pleasing manner.

Stationery

With more than 10 years experience as a successful quality-driven business—Blue Island Seafood wanted their stationery to reflect just that. Leveraging brand colors and minimal design, we aimed to convey professionalism, expertise, and quality to existing customers and prospects.
